In-House Machine Shop

ATSCO Sales & Service operates a fully equipped in-house machine shop at our Heber City, Utah headquarters — a capability that sets us apart from every other industrial manufacturer's representative in the Rocky Mountain region. Our machinists have decades of combined experience machining brackets, adapters, couplings, and custom components that make it possible to mount any actuator to any valve, fast and right.

The in-house machine shop is the backbone of ATSCO's valve actuation service. When a customer brings us a non-standard valve body that no off-the-shelf bracket will fit — or needs an actuator remounted on an existing valve without a full replacement — our machinists design and fabricate a custom solution. We work from customer drawings, original equipment manufacturer specifications, or develop our own designs using the valve and actuator dimensional data from our manufacturer relationships.

Our in-house machine shop capabilities include CNC milling and turning, manual lathe work, drilling, tapping, and precision fitting. We machine mounting brackets in carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum depending on the corrosion and environmental requirements of the installation. All machined components are inspected against dimensional drawings before leaving the shop floor.

ATSCO's in-house machine shop also supports repair and reconditioning work for valves and actuators returned by customers for service. We can machine replacement stem bushings, re-bore stuffing boxes to accept modern packing sizes, machine seat rings, and perform other precision maintenance operations that extend valve service life and avoid the cost of full valve replacement. This service is particularly valuable for customers with legacy valve inventory where replacement parts are no longer available from the original manufacturer.

Lead times from our in-house machine shop are typically far shorter than outsourcing to a contract in-house machine shop or ordering factory-fabricated brackets from actuator manufacturers. For Rocky Mountain industrial customers facing turnaround deadlines or emergency maintenance situations, ATSCO's in-house machining capability can be the difference between a one-week resolution and a month-long delay.

Our In-House Machine Shop Capabilities

  • CNC milling and turning for precision bracket and adapter components
  • Manual lathe operations for custom shafts, bushings, and couplings
  • Custom actuator mounting bracket fabrication — carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum
  • Actuator-to-valve coupling design and machining
  • Valve stem bushing replacement and stuffing box reboring
  • Seat ring and trim machining for valve reconditioning
  • Precision drilling, tapping, and thread repair
  • Dimensional inspection and quality control
  • Reverse engineering of obsolete or undocumented components
  • Emergency machining services for turnaround and maintenance shutdowns

When standard solutions won't work, ATSCO's in-house machine shop makes the solution. Send us your valve and actuator dimensional data and our team will design a bracket and coupling that installs correctly the first time.
