Pneumatic Vane Actuators

Kinetrol's vane-type pneumatic actuators are the cornerstone of the product line, available in 14 standard sizes delivering output torques from 6 Nm to 13,500 Nm. Unlike rack-and-pinion actuators, the Kinetrol vane design produces consistent torque throughout the full 90° stroke with no internal metal-to-metal contact, resulting in extremely long service life and virtually zero maintenance requirements. Double-acting and spring-return configurations are available to suit fail-safe and non-fail-safe applications, and all Kinetrol actuators feature ISO 5211 direct valve mounting for compatibility with all major valve brands.

The Kinetrol ARIS Electric Actuator extends the range to electric quarter-turn service, offering the same compact form factor and precision control in a battery-backed fail-safe electric package. Kinetrol actuators are used extensively in oil and gas, chemical processing, power generation, water and wastewater, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, and pulp and paper industries worldwide.

Limit Switch Boxes

Kinetrol limit switch boxes provide reliable valve position feedback for control system integration and visual indication. The VLS/ULS Series standard limit switch boxes are compact, IP67-rated, and suitable for general industrial environments, available with SPDT or DPDT microswitches and a variety of visual indicators. Units can be supplied with one to four independent switch outputs to monitor open, closed, and intermediate valve positions.

The XLS Explosion-Proof Limit Switch Box meets ATEX and IECEx certification requirements for use in hazardous areas including Zone 1 and Zone 2 gas atmospheres and Zone 21 dust atmospheres, making it the standard for oil and gas, chemical, and petrochemical applications. Kinetrol also offers stainless steel and hygienic limit switch boxes for corrosive and washdown environments in food, pharmaceutical, and offshore applications.

Positioners

Kinetrol positioners convert a control signal into precise pneumatic actuator positioning, enabling accurate throttling control for modulating valve applications. The AP Series Pneumatic Positioner accepts a 3–15 psi or 6–30 psi input signal and provides direct or reverse-acting positioning with adjustable span and zero, suitable for all standard control valve applications. The compact, rugged design mounts directly to the Kinetrol actuator without external linkages for superior positioning accuracy and simplified installation.

Kinetrol electro-pneumatic positioners accept 4–20 mA input signals and provide split-range capability for full integration with modern DCS and PLC systems. HART-compatible versions are available for digital communication and diagnostics. Kinetrol positioners are used in chemical dosing, flow control, pressure regulation, and any application requiring precise valve positioning from a modulating control signal.

Gearbox & Damper Drives

Kinetrol manual geared overrides allow an actuator-mounted valve to be operated by hand in the event of air or power failure. The Kinetrol Geared Manual Override is designed for direct mounting to the Kinetrol actuator without removing it from the valve, using a handwheel and worm gear mechanism that engages automatically when pneumatic supply is lost. Declutch versions allow pneumatic operation to resume automatically when air supply is restored.

Kinetrol Damper Drives adapt the vane actuator principle to HVAC and industrial duct damper automation, providing smooth, accurate positioning of round and rectangular dampers in air handling, ventilation, and combustion air control applications. Available in spring-return and double-acting configurations, Kinetrol damper drives are widely used in power generation, industrial process heating, and building management systems.
