Rack & Pinion Pneumatic Actuators

Vtork rack-and-pinion pneumatic actuators are designed for reliable quarter-turn automation of ball valves, butterfly valves, and plug valves across the full spectrum of industrial process applications. Available in double-acting and spring-return configurations, Vtork rack-and-pinion actuators cover output torques from 10 Nm to over 3,000 Nm, with standard aluminum body construction and optional stainless steel for corrosive environments. All models feature ISO 5211 direct valve mounting, NAMUR solenoid valve interface, and corrosion-resistant coatings for outdoor and offshore service.

Vtork rack-and-pinion actuators are available with optional accessories including solenoid valves, limit switches, positioners, and air filter regulators for complete valve automation packages. Scotch Yoke Actuators

Vtork scotch yoke pneumatic actuators are engineered for high-torque applications requiring superior breakout torque at the beginning of the stroke — the exact performance characteristic required for tight-shutoff ball valves, triple-offset butterfly valves, and large-bore gate valves in pipeline and heavy industrial service. The scotch yoke mechanism naturally generates maximum torque at the beginning and end of the stroke where valve seating forces are greatest, and lower torque at mid-stroke, providing an ideal torque profile that maximizes actuator efficiency and reduces cylinder size requirements.

Vtork scotch yoke actuators are built for large valve automation on pipeline isolation, emergency shutoff (ESD), and high-cycle process applications. Vtork electric actuators feature integrated controls with adjustable torque limiting, mechanical and electronic end-of-travel limit switches, local handwheel for emergency manual operation, and optional modulating control with 4–20 mA input and position feedback. Communication options include HART, PROFIBUS, Foundation Fieldbus, and Modbus for integration with modern DCS and SCADA systems. Declutchable Manual Gear Override

Vtork declutchable manual gear overrides allow a pneumatically or electrically actuated valve to be operated by hand when instrument air or power is unavailable. The gear override mounts directly to the actuator and engages with a simple lever operation, providing handwheel-driven manual valve control without removing the actuator from service. The declutch mechanism automatically returns to automatic mode when pneumatic or electric supply is restored, ensuring uninterrupted process control following maintenance or power restoration events.
